You can mail it off to PMG which is kind of a pain but I would imagine some rare coin dealers can send it off for you. It's probably going to be worth a good amount of money but the trick is you're going to have to find the right buyer.

I would tell him to by no means sell it at some local coin collector's thing, no matter how much money they offer him. The chances of some local show offering him the best deal are slim to none, and the chances of people trying to rip him off are incredibly high.
I'd tell him before he goes it could be worth $5,000 or something. Set the bar high so when the locals offer him $1,000 he does not get excited.
I have no idea what it is worth, I'm just saying the chances of you selling for much more online or to someone that operates nationally is so much better than a local person.
