Donovan was making at least $3-4 million from sponsorships alone in 2010, mostly from Nike, Gatorade, and Pepsi.

I don't under stand how people on here who are a soccer fans are trying to argue over who the average non soccer fan knows more now when clearly sports marketers disagree. The average non-soccer fan probably can't remember Tim Howard from last men's World Cup, but might recognize a Women from their's because it just happened and their marketed pretty heavily more current.
