Watched SW TFA again today and had a thought I'd never had.

Spoilers.
Saw it three times in the theater and I've watched it four or five times online and today was the first time it occurred to me that Chewie shooting Kylo Ren would have been a big deal for Chewie.
I never thought about how tight Chewie must have been with Ben Solo from birth until his turn. Can you imagine how close Chewbacca would have been with Han's kid? That was like Chewie putting the bowcaster to his nephew or even own son.
Somehow that never occurred to me until this last watch.

I mean, maybe initially he was, but if he was a brat towards Chewie, I think his only thought on not killing him is that he was Han's spawn. Once he kills Han though, I don't think Chewie would give a shite. I don't think Chewie and Kylo were all that close.
My parents have dear friends who have kids that they despise. If these kids killed their father, I doubt they'd hesitate to kill them. One kid I'm thinking of I honestly think might do that and has all the signs of a serial killer. My parents and their friends seem to agree with this, and the father is highly disturbed by his behavior and distant from him as a result. This is the relationship I expect Kylo was to his father and his father's friends.
