Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($65.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Go with a HGST of the same specs. More reliable and $10 cheaper.

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card ($314.99 @ NCIX US)
If you must buy now, get a R9 390.

Storage: Crucial BX200 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($63.99 @ SuperBiiz)
This series from Crucial is slow for a SSD, but you won't really notice the difference.

Monitor: Asus VS228T-P 60Hz 21.5" Monitor ($98.89 @ Amazon)
Why are you getting 2 tiny shtty monitors?
You might want to settle on 1 decent monitor instead of dual turds. Will post some suggestions.

Any manufacturer I should avoid or look for on this one?

If I plan to mainly just have my OS on the SSD, would the speed difference be more noticeable? Either positive or negative?
