He definitely looked like it caught him off guard. And he did swerve. But a decision has to be made in less than a second when a car is coming at you that fast. You don't have the luxury of hindsight.

But right now, we do. And looking at how he behaved before, during, and after, it seems the police made the right call.

I know all about split second decisions. My comment was that he didn't try to run over anyone or avoid the roadblock and instead swerved to avoid hitting the people and cars blocking the road.

The shoot or don't shoot is a tough one. I feel I have enough first hand experience that I can say the shooting while understandable, may have been a little too quick. This is based on hindsight and only my personal opinion
