All the tomfoolery that goes on here notwithstanding, the OT had a part in breaking that case so quickly. They probably would have gotten around to BSL eventually, but in the meantime he could have killed more victims.

No it didn't. Just because the dude was on here talking about BSL being a part of his family and being suspicious, doesn't mean the OT broke open the case. If anything, he was very cryptic and withheld information until after they talked to the cops first.
