re: Do you tip baristas?

My coffee order is generally always simple and I typically tip. Generally a dollar. I see it as a way of improving my experience. I visit the same place and I visit frequently enough to where I see the tip as an investment on my future visits. The staff there knows my order and my interests. I get tips on local stuff and occasionally a free pastry or coffee.

Not sure about all coffee shops but the one in Savannah I go to is partly owned by a friend of mine. They make above minimum wage which is nice because I think that helps weed out the shitheads that tend to plague coffee shops
