I was there. against ole miss at the old cow palace (pete's palace wasn't ready until the next year). pistol pete was amazing to watch; even the guys on the other team enjoyed watching him. when he was close to breaking the record (Oscar Robertson held it) the ole miss players kind of backed off and let him shoot; they wanted to see it too.
