I am referring to the fact that from my vantage point, companies do not honor loyalty these days. The new guy in the same position makes more money then the 15 yr vet.

This is true. I've worked for the same company for almost 11 years now. About 3 years ago they hired a guy for the same level position as me with ALOT less field experience (he has a degree - I don't) and he started out making $5k more a year than I was.
