because as you get older, each year tht goes by feels shorter and shorter.

So if youre 10 years old, one year is 10% of the amount oif time youve been on Earth and therefore feels longer even though its really the same amount of time. when youre 40 tho, a year is only 2.5% of the amount of time youve been on earth and thus feels quicker.
