Anyone Familiar With the Linville Gorge?

Thinking about heading there tomorrow, it'll be about a 5 hour drive from here (Nashville).
Best view in the area? I'll likely just spend the day there then get a hotel in Asheville for the night.
I can't do any camping; have none of my gear with me.

Best view in the area? Where to go.
I'll only be going a day so can't do any super long hikes.

First time and one day only you will want to see the main attraction via touristy trail: Linville Falls. Driving along the western rim on Old 105/Kistler Hwy there are many "entrances" to trails that lead down in to the gorge. Going South on this road on the left will be Wiseman's View where you will see wide view of the gorge including main peaks Table Rock and Hawksbill.
If you go after dark you may be able to see the "Brown Mountain Lights". LINK
