So tell me, how may pairs of Tough Skin jeans did your mom make you wear...?

I had a pair of green ones that were like wearing armor..

At the start of every school year I'd get five brand new pair of Toughskins, one for every day of the school week. Those we supposed to last until at least spring unless I hit a crazy growth spurt or something. Of course when the knees got wore out she'd put these on them...

Then about 82 or so she started taking me to Boaz to the "VF Outlet" to buy my school clothes. That's when I got to switch over to the much cooler "Lee" brand of jeans.

A little after that, about 83-84 (I'm hitting my teens now), she started taking me to a store in the Gadsden Mall called "Directions". That's where I'd get my super cool parachute pants, spiked belts, and sleeveless, mesh tee-shirts. There was also a record store there called "Turtles" where I could get cool "rock" tee shirts as well.
