Couple of years ago while still having a vegetable garden in my back yard, my mother-in-law and her mom came to a visit and we were talking about the garden. They happened to ask when I'd be planting something, and I told them probably next weekend...which happened to be Easter weekend.

"Whatever you do...don't plant anything on Good Friday!"

"What's that now?"

"You're not supposed to dig the ground on Good Friday."

"Why?"

"It'll cause the ground to bleed."
