Hield is a better college player
I don't disagree

and while I do agree we would miss simmons rebounding ability we would get an extraordinary basketball player in return who can win games nearly by himself (which at this point Ben cannot).
OU relies a lot on offensive rebounds and kicks it out. Our interior defense would also be a hell of a lot worse

t would also create more opportunities for others like B. Sampson who would definitely be further along than he is now and is a complete mystery to me.
How would adding another guard create more opportunities for Sampson?

No I just meant if they had neither....No way does adding Hield help Sampson you're right.

OU is an interesting team to watch. They'll pass up put backs for the 3 after grabbing an offensive board.
It's extremely effective because defenders are usually out of position

definitely....and as a shooter it's much easier to take a pass from near the goal and step into a jump shot than to receive a pass from either side and square yourself...

And I think what you said is interesting because we're so used to seeing players (especially LSU) get the offensive board and force up a bad shot just because it's so instinctive to go back up will the ball after an OR.

sometimes I wonder if it can get any worse?

It can.
See LSU before Victor was eligible
