Watch it in slow motion. He initially though he could scoop up the ball. But Ware got to it a split second before he did. Cam was over the ball slightly bent over. No way for him to "fall" on it from his position. His body was already over the ball when Ware touched it. He would have had to sit butt down on the ground to grab it after Ware touched it.

bullshite

throw your legs straight back and fall straight down on the ball and he would have had possession of the ball because Ware only had his hand on the ball while Cam would have had his entire weight/body over the ball

Give it up. There's no more defending this. He said it was to avoid injury. Straight from his mouth.

Also, your reasoning sounds good for maybe a 1 year old.
