Les Miles repeated said that LSU will be using a 3-4 Okie defense. Can anyone tell me how this is different from a regular 3-4? I searched a couple of websites but I'm still not sure how is varies from a regular 3-4. I have heard of a 3-4 under but not a 3-4 okie.

More of a 3-3-5 look than a 3-4. You can have they ability to walk a SS down to play a variation of a OLB role

At Wisky, Aranda ran a 3-4 1 gap scheme. Has experience running all types of schemes, so no idea what scheme he will run here.

But he had all that success at Wisky running the 3-4 1 gap scheme. And you would think that we hired him based off of the success he had there. So i expect to see the 1 gap scheme from our D.

All I know is Adams, Beckwith and Key, et al are going to destroy opponents in 2016-2017 under Aranda.

I'm not sure how that would work tbh. We're going to be extremely weak at LB next year even with Beckwith returning and the d-line/secondary should be a huge strength. More DBs would make sense but not less lineman, IMO.

Honestly, a 3-3-5 would probably work well against certain teams we play but I couldn't see us doing that exclusively. I think he's going to adjust it based on the strengths we have which should be DB as #1 and the DL as #2 maybe even #1 with LB being a huge weakness. Even if we kept Fowler today I still don't think the LBs would be weak with Beckwith back. Divinity will probably come in and get a starting job but it might be unrealistic to expect him to be a great starter.
