I can't wait for my generation to finally nail that coffin shut and bury us arse far down into the ground

I don't know about everything Baby Boomer always getting press coverage. Recently there occurred one of the greatest coincidences in music history, when 2 members of the '60s band The Jefferson Airplane died on the same day -- yet this received surprisingly little media attention.

The narrative:
Boomers: too self-absorbed
Millennials: too self-aware
Gen X : caught in between both worlds

Here's good news for you: many of us Boomers will soon be at the age of Alzheimer's: in other words, we won't have any memory, so no memories to get nostalgic about.
Hope this makes you feel better.

Third rebooting of Spiderman franchise
Michael Sam's Draft Day on ESPN
First college student prosecuted under hate speech code
Assassination of Tupac (with flags flown at half mast) and ensuing government cover up

We're gonna be there too someday, sooner than you think.

The 60s get overhyped because of Boomer nostalgia but the 60s series that ran on CNN was pretty great. It was a hell of a decade.

Culturally, boomers shut down the club, then set it on fire, then blew it up, then boarded the last train leaving the station, and nothing that’s happened since can possibly measure up.
Build your own fricking club and stop mooching off of us you lazy, whiney shite.

Gotta love a millennial.
If it weren't for an 'older' generation
1. you wouldn't exist.
2. you would still be shitting in your diaper instead of the toilet at the age of 20.
3. Being educated doesn't make you smart. Example..
Medicare and Social Security are not entitlements dumbass. Its paid for with money taken from us from our jobs. Yes, a job. Google it to see what the definition is.

Every generation of Man has had memorable moments, one day you will have yours, we will not be here to celebrate them with you, hope you have a good glass of wine thinking about them.

Baby boomers are the absolutely worst generation. Look at how they treated the troops. Spitting on them, shouting curses at them, etc. fricking disgraceful. It's one thing to lash out against the government. It's a completely different thing to lash out against OUR troops who were doing what they were told to do. And that's just one of the shitty things that generation pulled.

I'm one of them and, if I don't have one foot in the grave, it's in sight. So relax, we will be out of your way soon enough.
I agree, the self indulgent nostalgia is a bit much, embarrassing even. Hell,The Big Chill epitomizes that. Was there a likeable character in it? Not all of us are them however. (Ironically, you would be shocked to find how like them Millennials and GenXers sometimes sound) Some of us are your parents and grandparents maybe?
These generational disputes are as old as time, so sit tight. The Boomers will be deader than Caesar in the not too distant future and your children and grandchildren may eventually rise up and despise you leaving your generation with bigger concerns than obnoxious self-indulgent over-the-top baby-boomer nostalgia.
Oh, yeah, by the way, I saw Hendrix (among others) at Tad Gormley Stadium and Black Sabbath (among others) at The Warehouse.

quote:
Every generation
Blames the one before
And all of their frustrations
Come beating on your door
I know that I'm a prisoner
To all my father held so dear
I know that I'm a hostage
To all his hopes and fears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years
Crumpled bits of paper
Filled with imperfect thought
Stilted conversations
I'm afraid that's all we've got
You say you just don't see it
He says it's perfect sense
You just can't get agreement in this present tense
We all talk a different language, talking in defense
Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye
So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future
It's the bitterness that lasts
So don't yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective on a different day
And if you don't give up, and don't give in, you may just be okay
Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye
I wasn't there that morning
When my Father passed away
I didn't get to tell him
All the things I had to say
I think I caught his spirit
Later that same year
I'm sure I heard his echo
In my baby's new born tears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years
Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye
