Take it from someone who has followed recruiting for a very long time. Class rankings are good indicators of how good or bad a class is. But having the "#1 class" doesn't mean much. Usually the difference between each class in the top 5 is negligible. It's really about filling needs, getting a few guys who can be studs and a few program guys in each class.
Some five stars will be busts, there will be one or two guys that don't qualify and four or five that transfer that never played. It happens to every single class. Then there will be a 3 star like Tyson Jackson who turns into a top 5 pick.

This is a very good class with a ton of defensive talent that is very much needed. Take it as such regardless of "rank".
