There is a button to turn auto stop off. It goes in sleep mode at stop light. It also has a large AGM gel cell battery to accommodate this. It restarts when you lift foot off brake or it needs to juice up the electrical charge due to load on battery. It's so subtle you hardly notice it restart.
Mine has been great so far. I have a 2015 super crew. Avg mpg is 23 commuting. I see up to 25-27 on highway.
I tow a 20' BassCat Cougar tandem axle. Generally get about 14 mpg towing. Basically same as my wife's V8 5.4 on power in the seat of pants feeling.
The 2.7 is peppier for a quick boost when those twin turbos kick in.
All in all, I would do it again.
