He didn't do really bad for the deal though. His trade in for his old jeep was 4k less than what he originally paid for it. So that means he basically only paid 2k a year to drive it. Not bad. He also got a much better interest rate as well so the payments are much less due to trade in/lower interest rate.

That's why I told him to get all the stuff he wants on it now. So he can love the jeep he has and keep it long after it's paid off. I'm keeping my jeep as long as possible as well.

Just do what my husband did when he could never figure out a rattle in his 2013 Rubicon....

What kind of rattle? I have a rattle/vibration noise in my steering column when I accelerate. It's been driving me crazy. I need to bring it to the dealer.

It might be a loose Yeti sticker causing the vibration. It's pretty common on the Rubicon.

IIRC his was a rattle on the passenger side while he was driving.

He brought it into the dealership several times and everytime....it wasn't making the rattle for them to find it.

But would start up on his drive home from the dealership

His was also 2 years old with only like 15K miles on it as well. We live 2 miles from his work so he has a very short commute(and he would bike or drive my old car as well to keep mileage low).

Had several jeeps going back to a new cj7. They have always held their value. I have a 2014 red sport with mods I think I would keep forever bit this new diesel might make me do it just one more time. If you keep them low mileage and trade every 2 you usually come out great. Free service and everything is replaced tires, wipers, filters, brakes...

Finding rattles like that more times than not is an exercise in futility. I've wasted many an hours doing it.

A lot of times the rattle is coming from somewhere not near where it sounds like it's coming from.

Dont drive a jeep, but my ac compressor is starting to go in my Yukon. I've got a noticeable vibration at idle that goes away when I turn the ac off. The accident might have caused the bearings to shift out of alignment causing a vibration.

Could be:

Loose motor mount

Air intake issue

Idle got knocked to "low" in the wreck.

timing belt..

Non-accident related:

Clogged fuel filter/ fuel pump (Women never put gas in the car, or wait till the arrow is below 'E' before they do)
