The intermediate passing game is almost non existent in a Cam Cameron offense.

I get why we want to throw the ball vertically, our personnel fits that at the QB and WR position. But when that's not working, you gotta had some of that west coast passing plays in there the keep the chains moving, build confidence, keep defense guessing etc.

I couldnt agree more and the etc. is needed in the above post. Its amazing to me that we have an all time great RB and we cant move the chains with intermediate throws being a part of the offense. The TE is rarely used either which is mind blowing with a back like Fournette back there.
Obviously, LSU doesnt want to throw over the middle, which is somewhat understandable. The Parcells, Jimmy Johnson philosophy, but to not implement some shorter throws that will almost always be open, when the Defense is in certain sets is undefendable. Arkansas pounds away and their TE is running free all over the field several times per game against any defense. It would help Fournette and the OL as well; to plant a few seeds into the LB's and safties of the opposing team vs running into a wall on most 1st downs.

I cant remember when LSU had a wide, I mean wide open medium-short yardage passing play with a WR. Hell, even ULM designed a wide open play against Bama and they couldnt run the ball at all and have far inferior players.

Im puzzled by the OC's play calling, his QB recruiting along with his his lack of developing an intermediate passing game.

Frustrating, I'll leave it at that.
