You can get good pizza in Houston. You can get passable pizza all over the country. As good as NYC? That's not my point. My point is that you can't even come close to a NY bagel anywhere else. That is the one category they firmly own.

And stories of them being titanic jerks are over-told and over-sold. They're the same hurried, stressed, densely confined people you'll find in any major city. I actually prefer them to the denizens of rural Mississippi.
