Well, two reasons I can think of :

1- The thread started about Romans, not Carthaginians. (Though as far as I'm concerned, we can discuss Carthaginians too if anyone wants).

2- I think his exploits, as great as they were, ended up with his "country" defeated and a lot of the fields salted by the Romans.

except that part about the salt in the fields didn't really happen.
