re: Tiger Stadium Dorms

Another story:

In the Southernmost section of ES about 78-81, we had 5 guys. One guy lived next to me and I called him "Naked Bill". Sometimes he would walk around our section naked. He was a marathon runner and owned about 40 pairs of shoes.

Another guy was gay. He loved Dolly Parton music and would sing along to her songs. Very strange. You could hear him throughout the whole section.

One of the other guys was in ROTC and had to stay very fit. The gay fellow would park himself on a toilet anytime the ROTC guy would take a shower. There was a large mirror across from the toilets, so he could watch the other guy taking a shower. Somehow, he always got finished just as the shower did. The ROTC guy didn't seem to mind as long as that was all there was to it.

We also sawed the lock off of the utility door at the end of the hall. In it we found an old chalkboard that became our poker table for our weekly games. The storage area had a surprise - there was a ladder down to the storage room below. That room had another ladder to the room below and so on all the way to the 1st floor. I have no idea what would be the purpose of that, but we would sometimes drink a little and do some exploring.

When I was there, ES was an upperclass dorm an there was no fear of getting caught with anything not supposed to be there.
