This is a huge reason King and Joe should be fired. I get the we want to not have to pay out the arse for buyouts but its incredibly stupid to try and force him to be fired by cutting him off.

What transpired is the national media and the most prominent alumnus of the school humiliated his boss and caused the school president to gut the AD.

After three embarrassing losses sure but a career at LSU second to none. The wheels would have to completely fall off next year to even bring up the discussion of getting rid of Miles.

He is here to stay as long as he wants or until the narrative is universally recognized that he is incapable of doing the job any more. Let's hope this doesn't happen and he doesn't become our Mack Brown

Then he plays a pretty damn good one on TV. He's beat Bama last two years, and just crushed Okie State, without a lot of defensive stars. I'd say that's not too shabby.

My thoughts on Alleva are well known. He has been trying to bleed out Les by 1000 cuts for years now. That's a recipe for disaster. Hopefully this was it coming to a head and it's over, and that's why I'm interested in Aranda's contract.

Les might feel bullet proof vs Joe and King but he might have the fear that big money boosters are willing to do anything to have him canned if he doesn't get back to winning like he did before.

the buyout money is there, it now becomes how far are the boosters willing to go

he lost to memphis this year, les took a bad team and deflated his best team last year.

Freeze is in for a gus type fall soon enough.

I think miles wanted recruiting and SEC ties and Steele represented that. I am ecstatic that Aranda is an outsider and is young and up and coming. He is Not another SEC retread or weirdo like Pelini or Pendergast to deal with. He seems like a smart and focused guy with a lot to prove.

I know LSU has to win, but who at LSU has more power than Les Miles right now? If Aleva or Alexander even think about crossing Miles they will get humiliated again.

Untrue.

Mile's future is totally up to him. A great Defensive hire is a start and a great move - for the defensive side of the ball.

Mile's also has the track record of paltry offensive production, especially against teams that stack up well against LSU. This is dangerous, because while you can have a lights out defense, if LSU can not score the points to win games, that defense tires out and things get problematic quite quickly. We can't rely on just the run.

I'd be more optimistic that we could get by if we had the kind of personnel we did back in 2011, but that is the kind of Defense that comes along once in many blue moons.

He will still be under a microscope, but a great D hire is definitely a start.

Sure but big money boosters go with the flow. Whatever that flow is currently. No one wants to appear anti-LSU

Miles seems to be making the right moves so I suspect the boosters are behind him, some begrudgingly of course

Not seeing it. His recruiting has been pretty impressive. Malzahn's? Not so much.

or he could be in for a usc type sanction raping. the ncaa loves to punish the little guys that pop up and freeze has a clear player control problem.

Im not sold on him, plus the ole miss fans were livid with the UF and memphis games. he has plenty of flaws.

Miles does appear to be making the correct moves. Im interested in what happens with cam. The new moves makes it look like les has some life again in him. If he just thought he was bullet proof i don't know if he makes these moves.

Lunatic boosters, players and bag men

yea that is how freeze comes off to me. He just kinda rolls the ball out and has very little control. the Diches were always in trouble and he could never control them.

Miles is competitive enough and self aware enough to want to make one last stretch run to cap his career. Whether he can pull it off with his incredibly conservative offensive philosophy is the real question. I think a draw for Aranda is he knows Miles is hands off with the DC.

I think Miles knowing he doesn't have to worry about Aleva stabbing him in the back again has to be a huge relief. Miles handled a shitty situation with class and emerged a winner.

Now we see what he does with the opportunity

It didn't happen like that. Steele was one of Les' top choices all along.

But to answer Supah's question, I have felt all along that once Les survived, he was here for good. Alleva took his shot, and politics stamped it out. This is Les' world now and we're all just living in it.

Tell me one thing said by someone in authority at LSU that confirms your allegation.

Because a poster here pulled the chains of some gullible types, that doesn't mean Les was going anywhere.

I believe part of LSU's problems with UA, UM and Arky has to do with when they show up in our schedule every year. They are back to back, late in the season. Is there a rule that prevents us from shuffling the schedule deck and redistributing the order of when we play these games over the whole season?

Miles has no accountability, aside from recruiting enough talent to win 8+ games per year. The 2007 title is 90% of his shield. His recruiting prowess will get him 10 + wins in the next few years. He is safe until 2018 at the earliest.

Hate it or love it, Miles is the big dick swinger at LSU.
