I think the Seattle Freeze is real and it's in Portland too. People in both places tend to be standoffish, cold and distant. It's just a PNW thing I guess. Both beautiful places with lots to see and do, great outdoor access. Just completely un-outgoing, un-motivated seeming people. I couldn't live there because the people are so cold (even conpared to Manhattan- hell, people in Manhattan seem nice by comparison) but it most definitely worth a visit.
