If it was me I'd prefer a 2-10 or so. I lie that us optics 1.8-10 because of the small 44k&m objective.

If you like Bushnell they also make a lrhs in 3-12x with the g2 reticle. They market it as a hunting scope, but it's an awesome scope for the semiautos.

I've been contemplating getting rid of my customs 260 and picking up an at style 308 and using the lrhs scope. Would be a solid package.

What about mounts? I've looked at:
-Larue
-American Defense

& also seems like each scope company has their own. Not sure if it would be best to match the scope with it's companies mount.

There are a ton of good mounts.

Larue, American defense, bobro, spuhr, aadland, nightforce, badger, etc etc

The spuhr is awesome, but is expensive. Has a really cool and easy way to level the scope when mounting it.

I have a badger uni mount on my ar, similar to the nightforce mount. Non quick detach and nothing special, just keeps the scope where it needs to be.

I've used larue and American defense in the past. I have not had any issues and all my mounts were nice. If you need/want quick detach ad/large/job to are probably your best bet.

I know there are more, but those are off the top of my head.

You might could snag a Browe BCO for that much. Better glass than an Acog but looks just like it. If you could raise your budget, no optic looks more at home on the Scar than an Elcan.
