I agree. Very similar experience with wine although I've learned to dial it back a bit and save the good stuff for truly special occasions. The best part is "the good stuff" is relative to each individual person. For some friends, it's a $20 bottle. For me, it's $50 to $100 a bottle. For some coworkers it's $200 to $300 a bottle.

Being alive is enough of a special occasion to me. I've got a closet full of beer, but I'm not shy drinking the good stuff whenever the mood strikes me.
