Not completely true. Crowns and implants are warranted.

It seems to be a growing trend, my current dentist gives a warranty in writing on their work. They also go over line by line what your procedure will cost and have you sign off on it. My previous dentist was old school, if something needed to be re-worked a year later you paid again in full.
