Tagging bass in Louisiana

Our club would like to start tagging bass. I went to the LDWF website and all I see is the Marine Cooperative Tagging Program. Looks like it's strictly saltwater.
Furthermore, I'm told that in some states, tagging fish is illegal unless approved by the wildlife agency.
1. Does anyone know if it's legal to tag bass in Louisiana?
2. If so, has anyone done it? Where do the tags come from?

It is perfectly legal to tag bass. At one time, Strike King had a tagging package that you could buy. Might look there and see if they still have it.

I know a couple people who tag bass, i actually caught a small tagged bass in lake verret 2 years ago, i called the number in off the tag and ldwf sent me a tshirt. The biologist told me ldwf doesn't put much effort into freshwater tagging, their main focus is tagging of saltwater fish
