It is pretty well known pits bit and hold (like a vice) compared to how most dogs will just bite and release.
I saw a vet say if a pit bull bites you insert a finger in its arse to make him let go...I hope I never have to try it b/c then I will get charged with beastiality

maybe ours didn't get the memo. dads lab bites and shakes his head like hes trying to rip whatever hes biting into pieces. ours was originally for catching pigs, but was too lazy to do anything useful.
