NO - which is why I'm calling bullshite.
I know that once your detector picks up laser, they already have you. And I don't mind paying tickets. On the first one, he got me. Once I quit head banging long enough to see the cop, I realized what that faint ringing sound being drowned out by Slayer was - it was my detector going apeshite. Fair game. He got me - I paid it with no complaints.
But this time I'm calling bullshite on 89, and I straight up told him I do not believe he lasered me. My detector would have gone off. I would have been caught at that point, but it would have been a legit speed. And every time I questioned something he said, he responded with one of those "tighten the lips so you give that straight-across not-a-smile-but-not-a-smirk thing" and nodded his head. Then pulled answers out of his arse like "laser detectors are illegal" and "laser detectors don't exist" (to which I answered, "How are they illegal if they don't exist?). I'm normally VERY polite to officers - my dad was NOPD for nearly 20 years - but this stop was straight up bullshite and I was pissed.
