I hear that all the time. I went to lsu and knew way more than 99 percent of my high school friends that went to more prestigious colleges (several ivy league, rhodes, trinity, centenary, tulane, ect). Based off science fields (b.s. Chem here).

The classes that were offered at lsu, being a university, wasnt even comparable to those fancy private schools.

I knew I'd get this response. I'm an LSU alum as well, but if I'm dropping 20k a year for HS, my kid better get into the Stanford's and Ivy League schools of the world.

No offense, LSU < those schools.

What is the average household income of families that sends their kids to private school in baton rouge?

I had a coworker that worked 2 jobs(60+hrs/week) to afford to send her 2 girls to private school. She drives a beat up civic too.

Meh...an undergrad degree from LSU is as good as any other state school. TOPS then do graduate work wherever.

And of course that all depends on what your kid wants to do in life. Elementary Education? Yeah, I'm not spending Ivy League money.
