I don't recall what I pay for the banana but pecan prices are very high for a couple of reasons. This year all the rain in the spring knocked blooms off and I've heard the pecan crop is down like 80%. Also China is buying up as many as they can which is driving the cost up.
And it's not like you can just get into pecan farming in a hurry.

Nah, they've been $20 per pie for several years now, even in high yield years.
Atwood's in Alexandria actually has a better pecan pie, but Lea's is still legendary.
As to the service, it's hard to find talent in Lecompte, working at a spot where the average meal is less than $10.
