Let's add to the absurdity of "conference championships" in the Playoff Committee era.
You could argue the other side and say Bama is actually getting penalized thanks to the "hail lateral" play because if Ole Miss wins that game, Bama is already a playoff lock.
Now they have to go to Atlanta and beat Florida, and if they don't they are out of the playoffs completely

I've been thinking of this scenario as well, damn you Ole Miss. How can you not stop a 4th and 25

I don't think they would be, for the same reason Ohio State is probably done if Iowa wins Saturday. They might still get in, but far from a lock.
