I agree with all of this and that's sort of my point. Not saying Bama wouldn't deserve to get in, they definitely still should.

It just would've been the exact scenario that would've proved how stupid conference championship games are.

You'd have an SEC "Champion" not even in the playoffs, and an SEC team they beat as one of the best 4 and very well could be a National Champion. It would've been absurd (even though I know this is all hypothetical and none of this happened )
