I'm laughing pretty heartily at this. Some windbag(s) who give a lot of money thought they were going to call up the AD and the board and hire and fire the head coach.
Anyone who didn't believe they had this power were called naive or uninformed. I hope a lot of people feel really stupid right now, because they deserve to.
No way it happened that way. It would suggest no one was piloting the effort. If so, there's far too much incompetence involved.
