If the decision makers aren't going to announce that they intend to honor the duration of Miles' contact, they need to have his replacement lined up well in advance of any decision to fire Les.

Alleva should be fired if he fires Les and doesn't have an agreement in place to bring in Jimbo (or someone comparable).

Giving Les a 1-year ultimatum to turn it around isn't an option either because of the damage such an action would have on recruiting and Les' ability to attract and retain assistant coaches.

If the next coach hasn't already agreed to specific terms, then Alleva needs to come out and say Les will be here until 2018 or whenever his contract is up at a minimum.
