Any Georgia posters hearing this? I was at World of Beer yesterday and the bartender said he heard that they had to send the kegs they had back to the distributor because they were over the 14% abv that is the cut off in Georgia. My wife says she saw something on facebook about it also. I have not been able to find anything about it online. Hoping that this is only one of the varieties and the base Bourbon County will come in under 14%. What a stupid law.

Apparently this years batch fell in two ranges. 13.8% and 14.3%. They screwed up and did not set aside the 13.8% for the Ga markets and only sent the 14.3 so now all the stores that got it have to send it back.

Thanks for ruining my Thanksgiving Goose Island

According to Untappd there was some at 13.8% and some at 14.4% last year... sort of odd.

Doesn't bother me.

If I want something that strong, I will just drop a shot of vodka into a Guinness.

Mouton, we are finally forming LSU Savannah. I'd like to include you as we get it going. We have some pretty strong interest.

Georgia's beer laws would be the worst in the country if not for Mississippi. Still, GI shouldn't have flubbed this .. Ga. got plenty last year.

It will be. I was a member of that one. It is a dud. Their viewing parties are awful.

We are going to do this one right I hope. I know you are in Atlanta, but I will keep you posted if you want. Might be a fun road trip for events we have. And we'd appreciate input into how to make it good.

I will edit once you and Mouton give me the go ahead. If you don't want "in" that's cool. Please let me know.

Sounds like Georgia needs to get out of the prohibition age and step it's beer game up.

I hear it is illegal in La as well. Guess everyone can just sleep in instead of hunting.

Yeah I'll shoot you an email, I'd be down for driving over for something. The old fogies who run the ATL chapter can put a brother to sleep I tell ya.

Okay to edit.

I'm only old in body. The guy I'm working with to get this going only graduated a year ago.

Mostly I want it to be vibrant, welcoming and fun.

Next football season, I'd like to set up at least one viewing party where we commandeer a large screened gazebo on the marsh and set up the tv's, "LSU music" great food etc. We have a place in mind already.

I wonder if Atlanta is just too big and spread out to make it really work.

Anyone in GA had any luck? Stopped by my local shop and picked up two bottles . Got home and realized it was the Barleywine.

Should be able to find someone to trade bottle for bottle on BCBS if you wanted.
