if he could just knock down a couple elbow jumpers a game. and we've got to get him some looks in the low post especially if they want to put a smaller guy on him or double when we've got the likes of sampson, tq, hornsby, blakeney on the floor at the same time

We should have a rule that Simmons has to touch the ball on every possessions that isn't a fast break. He isn't getting the ball enough imo.

As a coach myself, I think that's pretty easy to do. Especially if you're trying to start with ISO play or a set offense. Simmons can drive and dish, immediately post up after, and go to work, or if they actually ran an offense it's very easy to pass, cut, and repost at the short corner or above the block. Now they will start to expect this eventually, then let him work off of screens away from the ball to get position. Zones are what make this difficult.
I do this when I coach lower levels of ball when the "big guys" aren't always coordinated or talented enough yet to truly post up. I'll motion my best guard (who is actually close to the same size or bigger than most of the post players, just like Simmons is) to the block and let him post up on a less talented player. Easy baskets.
ETA: I am nowhere near claiming to be a great coach and not bashing Jones...these just aren't exactly ground breaking concepts or anything.
