Ok, I'll revise. Anyone know where I can get an oak tree from? I obviously don't want to cut any of my big oaks and don't see cutting someone else's down. I also don't want to go just cut an oak tree down in the woods for a 24" chunk. What about...you know what, never mind...

Call a local tree service that you know does take downs. They have to dump all those chunks somewhere, probably have a big pile you can get what you need.

I thought I was clear . . . from an oak tree.
I would suggest a wooded area would be a good place to start.
