A mug shot of an Ole Miss fan who was seen in a viral video being hit by police seems to show a difference in his injuries from when he was booked into after he was released.
The photo released by the Lafayette County Jail, timestamped 6:57 p.m. on Nov. 21, shows what looks to be cuts and abrasions by Chris Barnes' left eye, but does not appear to show any further damage. The photo released by the family, allegedly taken after he was released from jail, shows significant damage beyond that shown in the mug shot as described by Holly Barnes.
"I can say that there is a significant difference between the photos taken in our custody and the one released by the family on social media," said Potts.
