sota wins not as a slight to TCU, but as an indictment on the rest of the conference favorites. Like I said, I thought Minnesota was a good win, but it's still fricking Minnesota. OU can highlight the Tennessee win this year, but wtf can Okie State and Baylor point to to bolster their resume?

Can every team in every conference point to a marquee out of conference win? In my experience, no there's usually one or two that do and whether those are the teams that are playing for the conference championship or not, those wins legitimize the conference by either the direct win or by the oh-so-popular reflexive win property of football. It happens literally every season.

Nope, which is why TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma State was left out of the top 4 in the first committee polls. Okie State was the lowest ranked undefeated P5 team.

Did the OU or Tech wins over SEC opponents legitimize the Big XII? The TCU win over Minnesota? I think the Big XII is underrated for the most part, but the committee isn't buying it thus far.
