This is why a number of fans have turned against Miles

It's a question of how you define changing things up.

Miles is probably referencing wholesale changes. Some people are talking about tweaking the play calling within the current system.

In the end, people just can't handle the loss and lash out against Miles.

This is the bottom line truth. No matter what scheme you play, if the defense you are going up against dominates your strength (whatever that is), the offense is coming to a grinding halt.

LSU passed the ball effectively at times. I think LSU would have done more of that with more effectiveness had we been able to be just semi-effective with the running game. Bama DOMINATED our OL. They didn't just stop Fournette...they prevented him from even being marginally effective.

2nd and 6, 3rd and 3 an additional 10+ times in a game probably adds 14 points to the scoreboard...maybe more.

I didn't predict that Bama woudl totally shut down our running the game the way it did. In fact, if LSU plays Bama again, I'm not sure I'd predict that. It totally surprised me. And, I don't think there were many on this board who expected that.

At the end of the first quarter, I turned to those I was watching the game with and said, we can't run it, and they are running it effectively. This is the worst case scenario.

Tip your cap to Bama. They beat LSU at its game.

If LSU had done more of that, our running game would have been more effective.

It wasn't rocket science. Sell out with run blitz and make BH heat you passing. Les wasn't willing to take that gamble, although I can't understand why he didn't have a contingency plan in place. Maybe he did and was just to stubborn to give up on what has been working all year.

Shotgun, roll out, whatever it takes to throw the ball down the field and take advantage of the mis-matches LSU had with our recs over their secondary. It worked a few times....but unfortunately, we tried to go to more intermediate to short passes...which aren't BH's strength. I guarantee you that if LSU would have made Bama pay down the field consistently that bame would have came out of the run blitzing and the running game would have picked up.

One would think with two former OC's, at least on staff, that LSU could have devised a game-plan that had a contingency in place for the I formation run game not working......You can bet that Miss State and Auburn will try and exploit Bama's weakness....(even though I know they don't have the run game of LSU).
