A history lesson from a much revered source

Before the United States of America came on the scene, for 100 years, 200 years, a 1,000 years, 3,000 years, people did things the same way… within 200 years of the advent of this nation, which believed in God, men were walking on the moon. Completely revolutionized and changed the world because a nation was willing to acknowledge God.
Now that's some fascinating stuff right there.

Can we at least get a link to your poli board slap match? I don't feel like sifting through that cesspool to find it.

That little bastard almost bit my finger off this morning. And because I'm on Clopidigrel I bleed almost like a hemophiliac.
It wasn't his fault, though.... I was feeding him by hand because Maggie was trying to steal his food... and he misjudged and took my finger with it.
I am in pain.

You do understand, regardless of your cold, rational analysis of it that the Founders were, generally, deeply spiritual people and they had a strong faith in G-d. Now, it was not a religiously dogmatic adherence to ritual and tradition, like on the Continent, or, more or less a public duty like in Britain, but rather something new - a "democratic" approach to faith that is best represented today by your run-of-the-mill Protestant church or, even "Pedestrians" like myself - with no particular church "building" or denomination.
And those engineers that built the bomb, and the massive undertaking that got us to the Moon - almost all of those folks were people of faith. Don't believe me? Read up on Borman, Lovell and Aldrin - and how the public outcry from Apollo 8's "Good Earth" Christmas greeting caused subsequent missions to suppress or conceal their expressions of faith - the athiests and secular humanists are so loving, so tolerant of differences of opinion - until they're in power and then they're not.
This discarding of Judeo-Christian ethics/morals/beliefs have coincided with a collapse in the prestige of the United States. A coincidence? Maybe. History will judge.
ETA: frick me - I thought this was the poliboard. Oh well:

Do you really want to play this game? Care to guess what percentage of the world's leading scientists are religious?
