Good for Byrd. I'm curious to see what their appeal was based on because the rule was cut and dry.

bullshite is what it is. A few years ago we had to forfeit our entire baseball season because we had two players who had enough credits to graduate leave school half a day to go to work. We had a new guidance counselor schedule the kids and she didn't realize athletes had to be at school all day.

It sucks but rules were rules we didn't follow them, but Byrd doesn't follow the rules, their athletes instead of going to work like our kids did sit at school and practice/prepare for the sports for two class periods and only get a slap on the wrist.

LHSAA needs to be more consistent with it's rulings.

Clhstrojans, I agree with you. That's why I said th rule was cut and dry. I congratulated Byrd for winning the appeal. However I would like to know what the appeal was based on because I don't see any grey area the way the rule was written.

This is not totally true. Athletes do not have to be at school all day. As long as you are on graduation rate, if you only need 4 classes thats all you have to take. You just fill other class spots as "work study" hours
