Sitting on my couch tonight with a very heavy heart. Our 16 year old Shih Tzu passed away this evening. She had extremely poor eye sight and she was aging fast. Vet asked me to think about putting her down 2 years ago but I couldn't. She was our first child and all of my daughters have grown up with her. We let her out to use the restroom this evening and she wandered off into the lake. She had done this before but when she would step into the mud she would just wait there until we got to her. With the high water from the recent rain she couldn't. My three daughters and wife are turned inside out. I may never have never have another dog again, this sucks!!

IMO the best thing to do is get another puppy. It helps with the sadness.
