You seem to see the world in black and white; there is no nuance, unless that nuance has been established.
No, I can assure you that I don't, but I do see the world in reality. I even said that him not running from the checkpoint changes things a little.

You're advocating for at least a 4 game suspension because he could have "hit a family or a crowd" presumably because he blew--albeit an arbitrarily defined--level. But knowing there is now practical difference between .08 and .07, I would assume you would be advocating for at least a 2 or 3 game suspension if someone drive at a .07 level; otherwise, your "could have hit a family" is a BS response defined by arbitrariness, not reality.
No, not really. First, I'm not advocating for anything. This isn't up to me, or you, or anyone else here that I'm aware of. I would give him a 4 game suspension because he was drinking underage, then got caught driving at over four times his legal limit, then allegedly tried to run from the police (later shown to be untrue). "Hitting a family or crowd" was in response to some idiot downplaying this as not that big of a deal. It is a big deal, and should be handled as such.
JT Barret is over the legal limit at .02, not .08, so get that number out of your head.

quote:But the level of impairment associated with his BAC doesn't differ; this is my point. When you make an argument relating the impact of one's impairment then some arbitrary criterion are essentially irrelevant. So a person barely over the limit is not functionally different the person barely under, yet people will often chastise the former but not say a thing about the latter. I'm trying to see if you fall into that poor logic.

It's fairly obvious that you either don't have kids or have young children. You'll mature in your thinking.
