That depends who you ask I guess.
Four games, at a minimum, would probably be the right thing to do. It won't happen, because unfortunately, you have people like the ones in here that pretend this isn't that bad because he was "barely" over the legal limit. I mean, they are wrong, but let's not let that get in the way of anything.

Second offense, yes. For this, no.

Who fricking knows with this guy. He is all over the map with his arguments.
I mean really we should probably put JT in prison for a month or two. He ALMOST KILLED PEOPLE.

The legal limit for JT Barrett was .02. Everyone knows that, right? So yes, if he blew a .07, nothing changes.

I heard JT was doing 60 in a 55mph construction zone.
HE ALMOST KILLED PEOPLE.

So if a player blew a .07 would you be calling for a multiple game suspension?

Someone that "turns 21 in two months anyways" is still 20, making it .02. It doesn't really matter, because he was still over the legal limit for someone of age.
Again, that wasn't an argument. That's something everyone of measurable intelligence knows.

Which player?

JT is underage. He gets an OVI if there is any alcohol in his system.

After his third or fourth off the field incident. Congrats.
Well this is at least no 2 for Barrett. I'm sure he just made a mistake and there aren't any other incidents that weren't made public. After all, CUM is the best at spotting character flaws in his players.

Well, the chkpoints arent always just for arresting drunks. STEP money, etc.

You're advocating for at least a 4 game suspension because he could have "hit a family or a crowd" presumably because he blew--albeit an arbitrarily defined--level. But knowing there is now practical difference between .08 and .07, I would assume you would be advocating for at least a 2 or 3 game suspension if someone drive at a .07 level; otherwise, your "could have hit a family" is a BS response defined by arbitrariness, not reality.

No, I can assure you that I don't, but I do see the world in reality. I even said that him not running from the checkpoint changes things a little.

No, not really. First, I'm not advocating for anything. This isn't up to me, or you, or anyone else here that I'm aware of. I would give him a 4 game suspension because he was drinking underage, then got caught driving at over four times his legal limit, then allegedly tried to run from the police (later shown to be untrue). "Hitting a family or crowd" was in response to some idiot downplaying this as not that big of a deal. It is a big deal, and should be handled as such.
JT Barret is over the legal limit at .02, not .08, so get that number out of your head.

quote:But the level of impairment associated with his BAC doesn't differ; this is my point. When you make an argument relating the impact of one's impairment then some arbitrary criterion are essentially irrelevant. So a person barely over the limit is not functionally different the person barely under, yet people will often chastise the former but not say a thing about the latter. I'm trying to see if you fall into that poor logic.

You have no idea how he was affected by a .099 BAC. He was actually close to five times his legal limit, so I misspoke when I said four times.

It's fairly obvious that you either don't have kids or have young children. You'll mature in your thinking.
