For a lot of the reasons already listed but I'd like to add a few points. If there is any team that has absolutely been the kill joy and emotional end to many LSU seasons past and present, it has been Alabama. This has been going on long before Saban got there.
If there is any fanbase that deserves a 20 year slump, it is Alabama. Seriously. The football gods have given them more than enough. If teams like Nebraska and Miami get to experience the slump, Bama is owed twice that.
